The Wrong Way Home
An intriguing art exhibition by Hungry Magpie - an artists' collective
comprising of Aoife Cassidy, Marie Connole, Jackie Knight and Phillina
Sun will take place in the DeValera Gallery in from November 30th to
December 8th. 'The Wrong Way Home' will deal primarily with escapism
and delve into the symbolism of fairytales, personal experiences and
psychological states. Fantastical, fictionalised and fabricated worlds
will be evoked and represented in this collaboration. This interlude
from the real, physical world into the imaginative will be realised
through various media including video, installation, painting, drawing
and writing.

The Old Kilfarboy Society will be presenting a talk, entitled "The
Instruments of the Passion on Gravestones in Ireland", on the elaborate
carvings to be found on the headstones of many of the graves in this
country. The main speaker will be Diarmuid O'Keeffe of Clonmel, who
will deal with the subject nationwide. He will be assisted by Donal
DeBarra, giving an account of what is to be found in West Clare, and
John Daly of Quilty discussing the symbols of Freemasonry which are
often included on gravestones.

Mary Stokes, Brian Palm and Paul Lambert form this trio.
Their gig at the Winter music Festival last January featured harmonica,
guitar and vocal performances that left anyone who attended with memories
of a rare night of acoustic blues. This gig will give you an opportunity
to see a different side of Ireland's premier blues singer who is touring
Holland in October before featuring in the Cork Jazz Festival.

of collective art making, personal exploration and debate. This training
programme is for people working with children. If you are a youth leader,

Brendan McGrath and Associates have organised a final public consultation
meeting about the Burren signage plan and task to develop a visual identity.
The 'branding' part of the project has been 're-cast' as a development
of a visual identity for signage and other purposes. This has come out
of our own review of objectives with Carol Gleeson but has been influenced
by the feedback from the May consultation programme.

Old Kilfarboy Society will be holding its first meeting of 2007.
Local man, Willie Healy will be talking to Tom Munnelly about the part
he and other members of his family played in the social life of Miltown
Malbay over the last fifty years. This included circuses, travelling
theatres (fit-ups), magic shows and musical events.
This will take place at The Malbay, The Square, Miltown Malbay and will
commence at 8.00 p.m.
