Populace
Scariff Library Gallery
On April 3rd Scariff Library Gallery will host "Populace" a visual
art collaboration between transition year students from Scariff Community
College Co. Clare, art teacher Mary Rouine and artist in residence Tara
Keegan. The exhibitions theme ‘Populace’ examines our environment
through the transformation of material, recycled books and found objects.
As part of the project students were encouraged to share their own ideas
and creative thinking processes becoming makers and transformers in their
environment. Artist in Residence visual artist Tara Keegan is a Graduate
of fine art sculpture & combined media from the Limerick School of Art
and Design were she is currently studying a MA in Social Practice and the
Creative Environment. Keegan is fascinated by the human body and it is ever
present in her work. Currently her studio practice focuses on the body’s
organic forms, growth, disease and cells through the medium of soft sculpture.
The exhibition runs from April 5th – April 14th with the opening reception
taking place on the 5th April at 5.30pm. This is a free event open to the
public and all are welcome to attend.

Father & Son; A pair of Stained Glass Windows in Killaloe

St. Flannan's Church, Killaloe @ 7pm
The windows flanking the Altar of St. Flannan's Church, Killaloe are two
remarkable examples of the art of stained-glass, and are the work of father
and son. As part of his church decoration business, Joshua Clarke made
stained-glass windows. His son Harry developed his talents in his father's
workshops. In a tragically short but brilliant career, Harry achieved
considerable renown for his highly accomplished and vert distinctive work
as a stained-glass artists. Talk organised by Killaloe-Ballina Local History
Society. Free Entry - All Welcome!

PlatForms - a new glór initiative to support artists in
creating new work
glór auditorium at 7.30pm
PlatForms is a new glór initiative to support artists in creating
new work – whilst providing insight for audiences into the development
process and the choices that artists make. The event will be ‘scratch’
in style, with a selection of artists across art-forms sharing brief excerpts
from their work-in-progress, with opportunities for audience responses
and feedback. Three to four artists/groups of artists will present short
excerpts of their work – followed by brief moderated discussions
with the audience about what they have seen. The audience are requested
to reserve tickets in advance and then pay what they feel on the night
(in cash!).

Kilfenora Music Festival
Kilfenora, Co. Clare.
From 27-31 April 2018, Kilfenora will stage its 10th annual traditional
music festival, a series commenced in 2009 with the 100th anniversary
of the Kilfenora Céilí Band. As usual, it will feature great
concerts, céilís and pub sessions.

Dancehall Days – a celebration of love and romance.
glór Theatre, Ennis at 3 pm.
Dancehall Days is an intergenerational drama and music project between
Clare Youth Theatre and the residents of St. Joseph's Hospital, Ennis.
Created and directed by Eleanor Feely with Clare Townsend.
Set in a dancehall, it explores love, romance and relationships through
the generations. Featuring Monica Morgan, Michael Hennessy, Eleanor Feely,
Clare Youth Theatre and the ladies and gentlemen of St. Joseph's Hospital,
Ennis.
Free public event. All welcome, young, old and in the middle! Bring your
dancing shoes.

Clare Garden Festival

Clare Garden Festival is a treat for Gardeners and a great day out for
all the family. Garden & Food stalls from all over Ireland join the
popular festival every year at the end of April with over 60 coming from
near and far. The festival offers a great series of Garden Expert talks
from an accessible stage and has much to offer and discover for young
and older gardeners from demonstrations to show gardens. All areas of
gardening including ornamental garden design, vegetable production for
beginners and advanced gardening techniques will be covered. Visitors
can expect an impressive programme of expert talks, a great garden &
artisan food fair with stallholders from all over Ireland and children's
