Singer Seán Keane appearing at Russell Memorial Weekend, Doolin
Saturday, February 25, 2006

The 12th festival commemorating the Russells is taking place in Doolin from Friday 24th to Sunday 26th of February next.

This year’s Saturday concert in the Russell Cultural Centre, Doolin will feature the renowned Galway folk singer Seán Keane, who is considered one of Ireland's most talented and versatile folk singers. His three acclaimed solo albums have firmly established him as one of Ireland's most versatile and talented singers. A natural and gifted performer on stage has won him the coveted award of "Performer of the Year” in 1997/98 and 1998/99. As a member of the Keane musical family his repertoire naturally includes many traditional songs, but well within his range are country, blues and pop songs. On stage he has become renowned not only for his voice, which is unique, but also for his wit, humour and charm. Seán's appearance in Doolin will coincide with the release of his forthcoming album, River of Yesterday.

This rare concert with master of ceremonies musician and broadcaster, Kieran Hanrahan, RTÉ, will also feature performances from the Céilí Bandits, Adrian O'Connor & Andy Jones, Aidan Rynne and friends, Carrick-on-Suir poet Michael Coady, Seamus McGrath, sean nós dancer Paddy Neylon, Frank Custy's Group and many more.
Tickets €20 at the door.
