Darren is a painter and sculptor living in East Clare. He works in stone
and oils and a number of his oil paintings have been purchased by numerous
businesses and private collections in Europe and America. The OPW purchased
two of his works in 2006.
This is Darren’s first Exhibition in 2007. The “Views from
a Hill” are a collection of bright, colourful landscape paintings
inspired by views in and around the Hill of Tulla in east Clare, the artists
adopted home. Some landscapes inspired by walks in west Clare (the Burren)
are also included. There will also be sculpture works on display, in stone,
in a more abstract style. The sculptures and painted panels that accompany
them are a set of works investigating the relationship between two and
three dimensional media.
