Beginners may attend the Scope of Irish Music or the Traditional Singing Workshop, or the Set Dancing Classes. There are no classes for the beginners in instrumental music except on pipes. Classes will be graded in the instruments.

MULLAHORAN SET (Cavan) SOUTH SLIGO LANCERS, CARAGH LAKE, CONEMARA REEL SET, STEPS AND RHYTHM OF THE CLARE SET at two venues in Mill Theatre, Ballard Road, Miltown Malbay.
TRADITIONAL SINGING WORKSHOP at St. Joseph’s Secondary School, Spanish Point. These will take the form of lectures, group discussions, class participation and demonstrations by traditional singers in Irish and English. These workshops will be conducted by Ian Lee, Archivist, R.T.E. and Brian Mullan, B.B.C. Radio Foyle. These are not singing classes.
THE SCOPE OF IRISH MUSIC - A week - long introduction to the Irish musical tradition. Paddy Glackin, renowned traditional fiddle player and Cathal Goan, an expert on traditional singing will conduct this course. During the course, masters of the fiddle, flute, whistle, concertina, uilleann pipes, dancing, and singing (in Irish and English) will demonstrate their crafts and discuss them with the students. This course will be held at the Library, St. Joseph’s, Spanish Point.
