| Notes: | Clonigulane
is a two teacher school in a rural setting. It has the services of a resource
teacher for six hours each week. The teaching emphasis in the school is
on the overall development of the pupils. The school aims to produce well
adjusted and well rounded individuals equipped with the skills that will
allow them to adapt to the challenges of life in secondary school.
Children
are encouraged to develop their strengths, to work on areas of challenge
and are helped to develop strategies that will allow them to achieve their
targets, both academic and personal. There is a strong pastoral emphasis
encouraging the children to care for each other and for those less fortunate
than themselves. The staff and children have adopted a Romanian charity,
run by a local woman, as a worthy cause to support. |
| Activities: | The
school has bought and developed its own all-weather playing pitch. It
also has a tarmacademed area with yard games marked out. A musical is
performed each year. Children are taught tin whistle and recorder. The
children join with the parish schools to form athletics, football and
chess teams. |
