Notes: Scoil Chriost Ri was established in 1978 to meet the educational needs of the Ennis area. Over the years it has developed into a large modern primary school. The educational facilities in the school are monitored continuously to ensure that they are in line with recent developments in education.

Remedial Teaching:
Where necessary, weaker pupils are given remedial assistance in English, Maths and Language Development. This assistance, given in small groups, greatly aids their academic and social development in school.

Activities:
Computer literate
It is the policy of the school to ensure that each child is computer literate when they leave. A great deal of money has been invested in technology to achieve this aim.

Activities during school hours include
P.E., camogie, hurling , football, basketball, swimming, speech and drama, cookery, school tours, athletics, choir practice, class quizes.

"Survive in Europe Project"
The Survive in Europe Project being promoted in the EU brings third class pupils in the school in contact with schools in Scotland, Denmark and Portugal.  Using advanced computing skills, children learn about other cultures while working together to produce an international booklet called "Survive in Europe".

Extra curricular activities after school hours include:
Choir practice, chess, football, camogie hurling and quiz team practice.

Homework Club
A Homework Club is operated after school, three afternoons a week.  Children have the opportunity to do their homework, under the supervision of and with the help of teachers and tutors

Classes for Parents
Classes for parents are run on a regular basis.  These include computer studies, introduction to irish, cookery, aromatherapy, parenting etc.

Rainbow Program
Rainbows is a peer support group for children bereaved through death, separation, divorce or abandonment. The course consists of 12 weekly sessions during which the children are allowed to express their feelings under the guidance of a trained facilitator.

Role of parents in the school
Parents play a central role in the education process. This role is very much encouraged by developing regular contact between the school and parents.
