Notes: Holy Family Junior and Senior Schools cater for both boys and girls from Junior Infants to Sixth Class. Currently there are 27 children of different nationalities from across the globe - the vast majority of whom are asylum seekers - attending the school. To ease the transition into Irish education, a Resource teacher has been provided for the children to improve their English and become familiar with Irish ways of life.

The school engages in a wide range of activities both in and out of school.

Lunches are available in the cafeteria for Senior school children. A substantial menu is provided at competitive prices.

Ennis Holy Family School and The Information Age Town
The school is equipped with a Computer Lab containing 26 computers and there is also one or two computers in each classroom. Educational softare has been installed resulting in new approaches to teaching preparation and methodology.

Activities:
Facilities and Activities
Having a large assembly hall, an extensive playground and a playing pitch facilitates the implementation of a comprehensive Sports Programme. All children are encouraged to become involved in at least one activity appropriate to their age. On the annual Sports Day, competition is left aside and the emphasis is on fun, enjoyment and participation of both pupils and parents.

Art and Craft
Woodwork, needlework, crochet, construction and picture making are some of the activities undertaken in the school. 5th and 6th classes take cookery classes in the modern Cookery Room.

Music
The Holy Family School continues its involvement in the teaching and appreciation of music. In the junior classes, children learn tin whistle and participate in percussion bands. In the senior classes pupils have the option of becoming members of the school band and regularly take part in local parades including the Fleadh Nua Parade, in which they are accompanied by majorettes from the school.  The school’s Afternoon of Music has now become an annual event. Parents and friends are treated to a variety of musical groups playing different instruments.

The Holy Family School Choir has won many awards. It regularly attends choral events and concerts in other towns and cities, including Feile na hInse, Slogadh etc.

After school activities include:
Speech and drama, the School of Performing Arts, Kindermusic for pre school children, gymnastics, French, German and guitar classes.
