Rockmount N.S. is a three teacher co-educational school situated about three miles from Miltown Malbay. It was built in 1865 and is one of the oldest schools in Clare. It has a shared Learning Support teacher and a shared Remedial teacher.

• Pupils enjoy Gaelic football, basketball and uni-hoc. They take part in quizzes, art competitions, essay competitions and write-a-book competition.
• The annual Sports Day takes place each June which promotes participation and fun for all.
• The children perform in a school play each Christmas. On nature walks, they learn to appreciate and value their environment.

Extra curricular activities include speech and drama and swimming during school hours.
We also participate in :

• Quizzes - Credit Union, Cadbury's and Community Games Quizzes;
• boys football (Gaelic) - won Division 2 in 2001;
• Girls football (Gaelic) - won Division C in 2001;
• Art Competitions - Community Games;
• Write-a-Book Competition;
• Readathon.
