Sean Lemass Public Library, Shannon, is the principal
library of the Southern Region. The library's stock is 35,000 volumes
including substantial adult fiction, adult non-fiction and children's
collections. There is also a substantial reference section and a collection
of materials devoted to County Clare. This library also manages the
Irish Joint Fiction Reserve Scheme for the county. The Sean Lemass Public
Library is home to the Shannon Language Centre which accommodates the
needs of independent language learners across various media, including
print, sound and image. The Shannon Scrabble Club meets twice a week
here, and there is a weekly storytime and crafts session for children.
Sean Lemass Public Library, Shannon, has a stock of
over 23,100 books for adults, and 11,700 books for children.
Music (on CD) and film (on DVD) collections are also
available for borrowing, and there are twelve free public access internet
PCs and four free desktop application PCs.
