All is Not Quiet in the Lemass LibraryClare Champion, Friday, 21st July 2006 A range of activities are organised for the summer in the Sean Lemass Library. The activities have been running for the past number of weeks and will continue throughout August. On Tuesday next a book club for adults will be held in the Library at 7 p.m. This month's book is The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas by John Boyne. Copies are available at the Library desk. A relaxation workshop for 10 to 12 year-olds with Chris Beekman will be held in the Library next Wednesday, July 26, at 2.30p.m. Places are limited and early booking is advisable. An art workshop, with artist Alan Shoosmith will take place next Thursday, July 27, from 2p.m. to 3p.m. And a children's book club will be held on Wednesday, August 9, for 9 to 12 year-olds. This month's book is 19 Railway Street by Michael Scott and Morgan Llywelyn. Copies of the book are available at the Library desk. A number of weekly activities are also being run in the Library during the summer. On Tuesdays at 4p.m. a storytime session is held with nursery rhymes and colouring for 4 to 7 year-olds. Arts and Crafts sessions are held every Thursday throughout the summer at 4p.m. for 7 to 12 year-olds. Throughout the summer, a reading challenge is also being run. The reading mission for children is to read books by ten (or more) authors by August 31. Certificates will be presented to those who succeed in this mission. Library membership for children at the Sean Lemass Library is free and admission to all of the Library events is also free. |
