Children's Book Festival

Miltown Malbay Library has much pleasure in hosting the following events to celebrate Children's Book Festival this October.

The first event on Tuesday, October 2, at 10.00am is the National Print Museum's print workshop where children will work with artefacts from the museum's collection to hand set and print their names in metal type. This is suitable for age group 8 to 12 year-olds.

On Wednesday, October 10, at 10.30am, Derek Landy, author of the critically acclaimed children's book Skulduggery Pleasant, will entertain the children with readings and chat.

On Monday, October 15, visiting author Malachy Doyle will talk to the younger 6 to 8 age group about his books and inspirations and he also has his own website www.malachydoyle.co.uk.

Finally, on Tuesday, October 16, at 11.15am, conservation ranger David Lyons presents an exciting hour long slide show titled "What we Know About Bats in Ireland". This show will appeal to all young nature enthusiasts between the ages of 9 to 12 years, where they will get to know bats through pictures and sound.
