Group Effort at Tulla Studios

Clare Champion, Friday, 15th December 2006

Just over a year after opening, the Tulla Stables Studio is to host its first annual group show this weekend. There are currently six artists working in the studios and all will be showing some of their work. The participating artists are Mairín Kelly, Tim Moloney, Tom Ryan, Danny O'Gorman, Peter Sheehan and John Hanrahan.

The show will open this Friday, running until Sunday, December 17 from 11am to 4pm daily. And on Sunday there will be open studios and a mulled wine reception from 2pm to 4pm.

"This group show and open studio is an opportunity for the local public to come along, see what the artists are involved in and enjoy a glass of mulled wine, see the studios and a dvierse range of art practice including painting, drawing and three dimensional work. The studios have been open for just over a year and the artists are keen to show their work in the community", said a spokesman for the studios.

Tulla Stables Studio is a Clare County Council initiative to foster artistic practice in a rural environment. This rural location is highly appropriate as much of the artwork is linked in someway to the landscape.
