Evolution: An Exhibition of Paintings by Local Artist, Eamon Doyle
Ennistymon
Library, 21st May to 11th June 2004
A
series of 19 paintings in oil and acrylic is a sample of the artist’s
work from somewhere in the past to the present.
The
series represents the connectedness of all things that has long
been accepted by philosophers, saints, artists and more recently
by scientists. In this series, paintings entitled Molecular Landscapes
give rise to others entitled The Formation of Lava, Rock and Planets.
The primitive landscapes of Coastline and Twilit Rocky Landscape
hold the Leaves, Stones, Ladybird, Fish and Fossils all represented
in the exhibition.
These
in turn give rise to our current landscape; Curlews, Moy Cottage,
Moy Castle and Liscannor Bay. Evolution is not
so much about how the world changes but how we change our view of
the world.
