  • Family Learning
    A ten week course FETAC accredited Level 3, continues in Sean Lemass Library, Shannon on Tuesday mornings from 10.30 to 12.30 until 16th January 2007.
    Programmes offer parents or carers of primary school children useful ideas to support children learning.
    Organised by Clare Adult Basic Education Service. Contact 061-365495. Classes are Free.
  • Christmas Craft Fair
    The Annual Christmas Craft Fair will take place from 5th - 12th December 2006 inclusive in Sean Lemass Public Library, Shannon.
  • Craft Exhibition
    A display of 50 tile mosaics from a recent craft workshop conducted at Stella Maris, Lisdoonvarna by Kathy Sambrook runs in Ennistymon Public Library until 2nd December 2006.
  • Christmas themed family learning sessions will be held in Killaloe Library for three Tuesdays starting on Tuesday, 28th Nov. between 10 am and 12 pm.

  • Amateur Art Exhibition
    Local amateur Art Group presents their first exhibition in Sean Lemass Public Library
    24th November - 1st December incl.
  • Science Fiction Children’s Author Visit
    Michael Carroll, author of The Quantum Prophesy, will visit the Sean Lemass Public Library Wednesday 22nd November at 1.30 pm.
    His visit is courtesy of John Treacy, I.E.S. Leixlip.
  • Dúchas na Sionna Exhibition: 15th - 22nd November incl. in Sean Lemass Public Library, Shannon. The Exhibition relates to the Archaeology, the Natural Environment and the Oral Tradition of Shannon and it's environs.
    A Report on Green spaces in Shannon will be launched on 17th November.
  • The Bubble Show, deValera Library, Ennis on Wednesday 15th November at 1.30 p.m.
    Acclaimed Bubble Master, Steve Allman, will lead you through the science of soap bubbles in an exciting, educational and entertaining children's science show.

    An Information Display relating to Public & Voluntary Services provision in South County Clare from 13th - 31st October at Sean Lemass Public Library, Shannon.
  • Information Morning for Public and Voluntary Service Providers
    In Sean Lemass Public Library, Shannon on Thursday 12th October at 10.30 am.
    Public and voluntary service providers in the Shannon, Newmarket-on-Fergus and Sixmilebridge areas will meet, identify and learn about new and related services for the benefit of serving the community of South County Clare.
    This is an inter-agency event organised by Sean Lemass Public Library and the Clare Adult Basic Education scheme.

  • Photographic Exhibition of Ireland's west coast by Dan Constantinescu.
    In Sean Lemass Public Library, Shannon from the 3rd to the 21st October 2006.
  • Adult Education Information Exhibition in Sean Lemass Public Library, Shannon from Sept 1st to 30th. Information on adult education, evening classes in Counties Clare and Limerick, distance education courses and online courses. Courses included are of various levels and duration.
  • Garden Bird Detectives. Discover Birds on your doorstep. An exhibition on garden birds based on Birdwatch Ireland's annual garden bird survey in Sean Lemass Public Library, Shannon from the 28th of August to the 30th September. This is an ENFO Exhibition supported by the Heritage Section, Clare County Council
  • Alan Shoosmith’s Art Workshop for children aged 8 to 12 years on Thursday the 27th July from 2 to 3pm in Sean Lemass Public Library
  • Relaxation & Visualisation techniques for children aged 10 to 12 yrs, with Chris Beekman. This session will take place in Sean Lemass Public Library on Wednesday the 26th July at 2.30pm. Booking required.
  • Painting Exhibition by local amateur artist, Rose Scullion in Sean Lemass Public Library, Shannon from the 24th to the 29th of July. The Exhibition Opening will take place on Tuesday the 25th July at 7.30pm
  • Art Exhibition by local artist Leonard Graham from the 3rd to the 22nd July 2006 in Sean Lemass Public Library, Shannon. Landscapes, and abstract paintings in oils and mixed media.

  • Art exhibition by transition year students from St. Patrick's Comprehensive School in Sean Lemass Public Library, Shannon. from the 2nd to the 12th May 2006
  • Dads 'n Lads Book Promotion. Sean Lemass Public Library, Shannon during April and May 2006. Dads 'n Lads is a book promotion by Clare County Library whose aim is to encouage men and boys to read and to share their reading together. An illustrated brochure with reviews of twenty books each for adults and children accompanies the promotion.
  • Art workshop by Alan Shoosmith for children aged 8 - 12 yrs on Wed 19th April at 3.30 pm at Sean Lemass Public Library, Shannon.
  • eARTh Exhibition at Sean Lemass Library, shannon from the 3rd to the 21st April, 2006
    A natural talent exhibition of art by students and staff from St. Caimin's Community school, Shannon. The exhibition also includes art donated by artists from around Ireland. This exhibition promotes environemental awareness and responsibility. All art work is for sale and money raised will fund an eco-art project for the school.
  • Exhibition of photography by Patrick Ryan in Dr. Patrick Hillery Library, Miltown Malbay from April 3rd - 28th, 2006
  • Chernobyl Project Anniversary Display by Ennistymon CBS in Ennistymon Public Library from April 1st - 29th, 2006
  • Exhibition of Photographs of Clare Scenes, by Patrick Ryan, Sculptor and Photographer, Inagh, in Ennistymon Public Library from March 3rd - 31st, 2006
  • Spoken English Classes. Spoken English classes for beginners, 10.30 am - 12.30 pm Thursday mornings through February and March with Clare Adult Basic Education Services.
  • Spoken English Intermediate Classes. 10.30 am - 12.30 p.m. Friday mornings through February and March with Clare Adult Basic Education Services.
  • Aosdána member, Margaretta D'arcy, playwright, gives a talk in De Valera Public Library on Friday 24th February at 7.30 p.m.
  • Local artist, Sinead Hayes has an exhibition in De Valera Library's Art Gallery from Friday 17th February until 4th March 2006
  • Shannon Community Games Art and Modellilng Exhibition. Competition entries and winners from boys and girls, age categories U8, U10, U12, U14 will be on display in Sean Lemass Public Library from 1st - 28th February, 2006 incl.
  • Author Ciarán de Baróid reads and discusses his book: Ballymurphy and the Irish War. The Belfast born author tells the story of a West Belfast community during the last few decades. 7.00 pm Friday 13th January 2006 in Sean Lemass Public Library, Shannon.
