‘Metamorphosis’ Exhibition
by Lori de Cartret Sheehan
Scariff Public Library
Lori de Cartaret has been working on these paintings for the last
5 years since she started taking her passion for art more seriously.
It has been a cathartic journey of soul searching, self-expression,
tears and joy, and a huge learning curve in the methods of creating
art. She has looked into her past, her memories, dreams and fears,
confronting a few ghosts on the way, but having done so she has
felt free and able to step out of the shadows of the past to look
ahead. Her latest paintings are of the beauty and light which
she is lucky enough to observe in the wild West of Ireland and
on her many travels to France. She now wishes to share them with
you. Website: http://loridecarteretartist.weebly.com

World Book Day Quick Reads promotion
Selected branches of Clare County Library
Each year the Quick Reads organisation commissions big name authors
to write short books that are specifically designed to be easy
to read. They are the same as mainstream books in every respect
but are simply shorter and easier to tackle for adults who are
less confident in their reading skills. The books are then sold
through major retailers and online booksellers and are loaned
from libraries. Clare County Library will have the new 2014 Quick
Reads titles available to borrow from branches in Ennis, Ennistymon,
Kilrush, Scariff and Shannon to coincide with World Book Day 2014.
Anyone who borrows a Quick Reads title from one of these branches
on Thursday 6th March, either a new title or one from previous
years, will receive a delicious complimentary bar of Galaxy chocolate.
Galaxy are proud sponsors of Quick Reads.
