Denise Danks

Once renowned as much for her outrageous hats and hair colour as for her fiction, Danks is now firmly placed as one of Britainís few female noir crime writers - and probably the only computer noir crime writer. Her first novel (also 1988) was The Pizza House Crash, which introduced her (non alter ego) heroine, computer journalist Georgina Powers. No one other than Danks sees Georgina as being based on George of The Famous Five. To everyone else, Georgina is a tough investigator with an eagerness for rough sex that Enid Blyton never dreamt of. Other books include Frame Grabber.
