Soldier Ralph teams with lawyer Gervase to personify a common moral imperative, detectives as justiciers. Sharp dialogue and complex plots reflect a dramasist’s sensibility. The Serpents of Harbledown is one of the titles in this series. Marston also writes children’s mysteries.
