John Mortimer

Dunster

Dunster is the story of school friends Philip Progmire and Dick Dunster. Although they are close, as they grow up they come to develop different views of truth which lead them to deal with its difficult demands in very different ways. When eventually Philip and Dick are confronted with the events of a wartime atrocity, they take opposed views on how to deal with the unpalatable facts. In Dunster, John Mortimer confronts us with an impossible dilemma in which, as friendship turns to emnity, we are forced to take sides.
