Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice
Time Warner Books 1994

This is the first book of the ‘Vampire Chronicles’ where Anne Rice starts her journey into the world of vampires, beings of beauty and horror. It is the story of Louis, a vampire, who is consumed with anguish for his lost mortal soul and nauseated that he must kill human beings to survive. He focuses on his time with Lestat, an undead libertine whose thirst for sensation is matched only by his thirst for blood. The reader is transfixed by writing of intense sexuality that conveys desire and desperation with vehement force.
Anne Rice was born in New Orleans.
