Schindler’s Ark by Thomas Keneally

Made familiar as the Oscar winning film Schindler’s List, this is the story of the flamboyant industrialist Oscar Schindler who used his position and risked his life to protect Jews in Nazi-occupied Poland. Although a story about heroism and ultimate survival, the atmosphere of the book is deeply depressing and savage.
Thomas Keneally was born and lives in Sydney. Schindler’s Ark won the Booker Prize in 1982.
