Siobhan Cunningham dreads walking past the usual gang of bullies who wait at the school gates for her every morning, some of whom used to be her friends. Things go from bad to worse, up to a point where the teachers, knowing nothing of her problems, send for Siobhan’s mother. Only the kind librarian, Mrs Allen has an inclination of what’s going on.

When she takes Siobhan on a visit to the Resource Centre, it becomes the turning point in her life. The Celtic brooch she finds there gives her the power to stand up to her mean friends, but unfortunately begins to turn her into someone like them. She has to be careful to use her new power, not to abuse it.

Bullies at School is an exciting fast-paced story suitable for children who are comfortable with independent reading.
