Dracula’s Daughter by Mary Hoffman
Published by Heinemann, 1988
ISBN 0-434-93048-2
Illustrations © Chris Riddell, 1988

First published in 1988, this title in the Yellow Bananas series has been reprinted several times. Banana Books are synonymous with early reading and are now divided into colour- coded series to match ability. Mary Hoffman has written countless books for children including picture books and books for teenage readers.

In Dracula’s Daughter Mr. and Mrs. Batty are delighted to welcome into their lives the abandoned baby girl found on their doorstep. Only when she reaches the age of five, and with the onset of her second teeth, do they begin to wonder why she has grown fangs. Doesn’t it seem strange that she enjoys all sorts of meat that other children usually refuse to eat?

Like all Banana Books, Dracula’s Daughter is beautifully illustrated throughout with full colour pictures.
