The Frankenstein Teacher by Tony Bradman
Published by Corgi Pups Books, 1998
ISBN 0-552-54551-1
Illustrations © Peter Kavanagh, 1998

Five short chapters tell the spooky story of Class Three’s new teacher with comic-style writing and hilarious drawings. While written in simple language there is a huge variety of interesting vocabulary used to tell the story of the Frankenstein teacher.

After the initial shock experienced by all the children on the entrance of the new teacher, things get back to normal pretty quickly and, children being children, resume their frenzied hunt for the missing school hamster.

When the Frankenstein teacher brings the dead hamster back to life the children realise that looks don’t really matter. Hannibal the hamster might look a bit different…..! but the ugly Mr. Frankenstein is, without doubt, the best teacher in the world.
