Impossible Parents is ideally suited to the child who has decided he wants to read by himself. Five short chapters containing pages with lots of quirky drawings and comic strips are just what beginner readers need to encourage them to read more and to develop confidence in independent reading.

Ben and Mary’s Dad sports a stupid filthy ponytail, dangling from the back of his head and wears a daft earring in the corner of his right nostril. Their mum who is a belly dancer dresses in fishnet body stockings.

That’s not so bad until teacher announces she’s looking forward to meeting all parents on Parents’ Day on Friday. Children will enjoy the sibling camaraderie displayed in the schemes hatched by Ben and Mary to ensure their parents don’t embarrass them.
