Jimmy Woods and the Big Bad Wolf by Mick Gowar

Jimmy Woods is a compulsive bully who hurts people because he likes to. After he terrorizes all the kids on the road and robs their pocket money, he sets his sights on bigger things. He manages to secure a key of old Granny Simpson’s back door and regularly threatens her, eats her food and tries to get hold of her pension book.

But there is one thing Jimmy is really scared of….dogs, especially Prince the hero of the story. This is an exciting story for young children, with underlying morals subtly introduced. The theme of bullying is very strong, and so also is the subject of caring for the elderly.

Jimmy Woods and the Big Bad Wolf is a story from the Chillers series by Puffin which features thrillers, ghost stories and mysteries for children. Excellent storylines are presented in a variety of text styles, often appearing on an illustrated background.
