Mary Lennox is a spoiled, self-centred child. Her parents die in India of cholera and Mary is the only survivor in the house. Her mother and father were preoccupied with their own lives and never showed her any love. The only one who cared for her was her nurse or Ayah, but she also died in the cholera epidemic. Mary moves home to England to be brought up by her uncle, whom she has
never met. She discovers she has a cousin, Colin, a sickly child, abandoned
to the care of the housekeeper of Misselthwaite Manor. She also discovers
that her new home in England is not a happy one. |

Mary soon discovers a walled garden neglected and overgrown. With the help of Dickon, the servant boy, and Colin, they bring the garden back to its former beauty and in doing so, heal their own hearts and souls. << From Pictures
