Shannon Library Competition: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Book Cover Competition

World Book Day, 1st March 2007 - The Artist Speaks
Artist Pat Ryan speaks about his work and explores the relationship between photography and painting in Sean Lemass Public Library, Shannon on Thursday, 1st March, between 11.00am and 12.30pm. Admission Free.

World Book Day was celebrated in Britain and Ireland on Thursday, March 1st 2007. To mark this day, a Readathon was held in; Ennis, Ennistymon, Kildysart, Kilkee, Killaloe, Kilrush, Lisdoonvarna, Miltown Malbay, Newmarket on Fergus, Shannon, Sixmilebridge and Tulla Libraries.

Schools and members of the public were invited to do short readings from books of their choice throughout the day in the library. A collection was made for Book Aid International which provides books for children in Sub-Saharan Africa and Palestine. For more information on Book Aid International see www.bookaid.org

Other events included a Fancy Dress Competition, Charlotte’s Web craft sessions, storytime and colouring sessions, a Design a Book Cover Competition and an artist’s exhibition and talk in Sean Lemass Public Library, Shannon.
