Back Quernstone
The use of quern stones
date to the Neolithic period 4000BC – 2,400BC. They were used in
conjunction with a rubbing stone used to grind wheat into flour in order
to produce bread. This quern was found near Ennistymon during the digging
of a drain and was complete with its rubbing stone.
