Polished Stone Axe

Neolithic. Found at Nooan, County Clare. Along with the polished stone axe, other tools that were introduced at this time include ards (simple ploughs) and stone saddle querns, and while we can be sure there were also many wooden tools in existence, they would have decayed and not survived to the present day.
