In October 1914, the Clare Senior Hurling team defeated Laois by 5-1 to 1-0 in the All-Ireland final.

It was Clare’s first All-Ireland Senior Hurling title, a feat that would not be repeated until 1995.

The team featured the winner of this medal, Ned Grace of O’Callaghan’s Mills.
