Transcriber Notes:

There are two features in these baptisms that I have not met with before:
1. The priest notes of some baptisms which he cannot find in the register. It seems that, on receiving a request for a letter of freedom (to marry in another parish), he looked for a record of the baptism of groom/bride, and, not finding it, noted the marriage in the place where he had expected to find the baptism. I have put these notes in the Notes column even though they have nothing to do with the preceding record - there might be a better way to deal with them. My way of identifying them is by starting with “note re baptism”, rather than the usual “married”
2. Between the beginning of Jan. 1861 and the end of June 1863, a Fr. Fogarty (I think that is his name) gives both the married and maiden names of female sponsors - but I don’t know how much we can deduce from this - it is possible that he did this only when he knew both names.
