Transcriber Notes:
The first few pages are very faded and are mostly illegible and the
same applies to several later entries, resulting in a record number
of question marks. In order to reduce the amount of question marks a
bit, the civil records were checked for some births on http://www.genealogy.ie
- but only when it was not too onerous (McInerny, Keane, Walsh and some
other names are very time-consuming). Any names found by that method
have been put in italics. The name “Johanna” in the baptisms
is very often entered as “Susan” in the civil records. On
one occasion, “Owen” (Hennessy) is given as “Eugene”
- Eugene is a version of Owen/Eoin. It’s also clear that Flahive
and Lahive/Lahiff are the same surname.
