Kilmacduane (Cooraclare) RC Marriage Registers
NLI Film 02485/07

Transcriber/Donator: Sheila Duddy

Transcriber Notes:
The original register is lost. This is a transcription of a transcription made in 1927 by Fr. P. Ryan. Latin names are given in English in this transcription. Fr. Ryan made a lot of mistakes. These become obvious when the data is sorted. Changes to any of his transcriptions or amendments to his mistakes have not been attempted. Researchers now have the advantage of being able compare the names that they suspect are wrong with the civil birth records on http://www.irishgenealogy.ie. - look under Kilrush. All of the question marks are Fr. Ryan’s, except a few in parentheses which are the transcriber’s. All the notes are his notes and show that he took great pains with his task.
Just three letters of freedom (to marry in another parish) are recorded:

Letter of freedom for Daniel Reidy to marry Susan Moylan, issued Jan. 29, 1864.
Letter of freedom for Andrew Calnan, issued Feb. 07, 1860 (bride-to-be not recorded).
Letter of freedom for John Quin, Brisla, issued Feb. 13, 1860 (bride-to-be not recorded).
