RC Baptism Records (Complete) for Tulla Parish, 1819-1881
This was a difficult transcription. There will be a large number of mistakes.
Confusion between Cooney, Corry, Connors, Conway, Connell and various
other names beginning with “C”. Researchers will need to take
that into account. Hard to distinguish between Halloran and Hallinan.
I think the priest also made guesses, especially as to first names.
The index for 1846-1862 (page 105) – plus the information the index-maker
gives on variants of surnames – helped a lot. This time his index
numbers and entry numbers diverge more and more as the years go by. This
is mainly because the transcriber makes an entry each for twins.
Most of the records from 1862-1881 can be checked against the births registered
in Tulla registration district (from 1864) on http://www.irishgenealogy.ie
but, except in a few cases, transcriber hasn't done this.
