The Tithe Applotment Books (TABs) were compiled
between 1823 and 1837 in order to establish the amount landholders should
pay towards the upkeep of the Church of Ireland. The TABs for County Clare
Civil Parishes
can be viewed here.
A recapitulation of the TABs was carried
out at a later date for some parishes, Kilmurry Ibrickan being one. The
original Book for Kilmurry Ibrickan (1825)
can be viewed
here.
The recapitulated Book was compiled nine years
later, in 1834. The townlands named in both surveys differ considerably.
