Private Johnny Connole of the Royal Munster Fusiliers, served in the Boer War from 8th June, 1900 to 22nd September, 1902.  He also served in the East Indies from 23rd Septermber 1902 to 10th January 1908.

Johnny went on a course of instruction to be a medic in the army on the 15th Novermber, 1909, and passed.

Johnny Connole was awarded the following:

  1. Queen's South Africa Medal, with 3 clasps: Cape Colonley, Orange Free State, and Transvaal.
  2. King's South Africa Medal, with 2 clasps: South Africa 1901, and South Africa 1902.
  3. India General Service Medal 1908, with bar for North West Frontier.
