McGann, Thomas ("King") Private 3356 1st Bn., Irish Guards d. Friday, 6th November 1914 30 Born in Ennistymon. Enlisted in Ennis. Son of Patrick and Jane McGann (Ennistymon?) Grand-uncle of Tom Coughlan. Was saving hay in Blackwells field when the train came in from Kilrush.When he heard the _ _ _ _ (band?) he stuck the fork in the ground and went off saying "Tell my mother Ill write".
