Born in Ennistymon.  Enlisted in Ennis.  Son of Patrick and Jane McGann (Ennistymon?) Grand-uncle of Tom Coughlan. Was saving hay in Blackwell’s field when the train came in from Kilrush.When he heard the _ _ _ _ (band?) he stuck the fork in the ground and went off saying "Tell my mother I’ll write". He was killed soon afterwards.
