| Burren
A village in the parish of Abbey, barony of Burren, co. Clare, Munster. It is situated on the north-east verge of the barony, and north verge of the county, 12 miles from Gort, and 111 from Dublin. At the head of a bay in its vicinity is NEW QUAY and at a brief distance in the Galway bay are the Burren oyster banks, famous throughout the surrounding country. The village has a post-office.
