Micho and Packie Russell were noted musicians from Doonagore, Doolin; along with a third brother, Gussie, they played at O’Connor’s Bar in Doolin throughout their lives. We first recorded Micho when he was invited to perform at The Singers Club and at Cecil Sharp House in London. Later, we recorded him again at singing sessions during the Willie Clancy Summer School, and again in O’Connor’s bar in Doolin when we went up to record a song from his brother Packie.
