Unnamed Clare Singers

The mainly Irish language singer singing mainly in Irish plus Three Brave Blacksmiths, marked ‘unknown’ from Doolin, was recorded at the same time as we recorded Packie Russell singing ‘Tom Tadger’, shortly before Packie’s death in 1977. We didn’t get his name, but it has been suggested he was Tom Flanagan, from the Doolin area. On the same occasion we recorded Micho Russell singing several songs, including The Man with the Nose, The Titanic and Poor Little Fisher Boy.
The anonymous singers from Mountscott and Mullagh were recorded during a singing session in Katty’s Bar, Mullagh, during the Willie Clancy Summer School, sometime in the early eighties.
