Between 1895 and 1915, Thomas J. Westropp
published an outstanding series of articles, in the Journal of the Royal
Society of Antiquaries of Ireland, which form the first complete survey
of the prehistoric forts and dolmens of The Burren and its surrounding
area in North Clare. As an archaeological record it remains unchallenged
